“Today, it’s not enough to sit in your office and crunch numbers—CFOs need to not only be the financial and accounting experts, but also have a keen knowledge about their company’s operations and the ever changing competitive landscape,” said Mr. Starr. Even meeting with your own key management isn’t always enough. “It’s important to meet with customers and understand how your company is performing in terms of their expectations,” he added.
